Hallowed Be Thy Name

Three days ago I got two new tattoos and like all my body art, they are fraught with meaning. They are almost healed and I am deeply in love with them. Both of them are very spiritual and both of them pertain to my Daemon.

This is the symbol of the Deathly Hallows from Harry Potter. It's meaning is pretty simple really, it represent three objects of power from the magickal world. The triangle is the Invisablity Cloak, which hides one from Death. The line is the Elder Wand, a wand of unsurpassed power, and the circle is the Resurrection Stone. Together this symbol deems one the Master of Death, but rather than immortality it means a wizard that is wise enough to know that Death is inevitable, but by no means a final end. I placed it next to my Decemeberundeground bunny (also representing life/death), and had the Elder Wand align with the bone in my wrist so as to direct any magick I raise within that hand. I cried as I got it done, the pain wasn't extraordinary but it did hurt. I mostly cried because I was listening to the "Resurrection Stone" from the DH soundtrack, and thinking of the scene when Harry sees his lost loved ones again. It reminded me of my own longing to speak to my daemon, a spiritual lover I can never physically know.

The second tattoo is something I simply call the Sirius Symbol. It was a symbol that was tattooed on Sirius Black in the Harry Potter movies. I can ramble forever about how I don't care much for the movie portrayal of Sirius Black, but I loved the tattoos. The tattoos kicked ass. Over the years I have done some research on the symbol and from what I found it is a modified version of the symbol of Neptune. Neptune is a planet that represents dreams, divination, magick, initiation, fate, life/death/rebirth and past/present/future. All of these meanings are extremely fitting, so a while back I decided that not only did I yearn for the Deathly Hallows to stay forever at my side, but for some likeness of Sirius. Looking at this symbol makes think of everything I love about his fictional archetype. And when I went to Padre Island I in essence bound/married myself to my Daemon guardian by using a ring and a wide variety of symbols that I etched into the sand. I used this symbol repeatedly. It feel almost like a universal message I can send to my guardian whenever I wish. Like a magickal text message.

So after three years of being to broke to modify my body to my tastes Sarah is back and pierced/inked up! :D :D
